Born and raised in Daegu, the artist graduated from the Department of Painting at Chung-Ang University and completed a master's degree in plastic arts at Kunst Academy of Fine Arts in Dusseldorf. He served as an adjunct professor at the Department of Western Chemistry at the College of Arts, Chung-Ang University, and served as artistic director at the 2009 and 2010 Taehwagang International Installation Art Festival. \r\n\r\nThe subject Hong Sun Hoan is exploring is gravity. It has been studied as 'structure of gravity', 'force of gravity', and 'movement of gravity'. Gravity affects all aspects of our lives. It is deeply involved not only in the physical aspects that define the practical form of human life, but also in essential things such as perception\/receptive attitude toward life. It is also possible to judge the value of phenomena and materials by recognizing the overall environment in which time and space are intertwined like a structure. For him, gravity is the action of an invisible force that coordinates the overall environment and serves as the basis for producing and defining comprehensive values in the historical category of mankind. This series of works related to gravity aims to narratively reveal facts that have been created and disappeared in the history of mankind. Based on vertical pressure and its reaction, horizontal expansion, space by collision, conquest, escape, survival, climate, etc. That's what it's all about moving. \r\n\r\nIn this exhibition, his representative works are introduced focusing on the concept of combining the 'structure of gravity', a cyclical system of creation and extinction, and the contradiction and absurdity of the principle of unilaterally biased power, 'the force of gravity'.","source":"","date_label":"","external_url":"","publication_date":"","isbn":"","price":"","dimensions":"","weight":"","pages":"","credit":"","authors":"","description":"","kind":"","contact_html":"","portrait":0,"hero":1046,"biography_pdf":0,"press_pdf":0,"document_pdf":0,"cover":0,"artist_id":0,"inquiry":false,"works":[{"id":1048,"caption":"Untitled, 1100 x 4500 x 60 cm, object\/installation, 2012","alt":"Untitled, 1100 x 4500 x 60 cm, object\/installation, 2012"},{"id":1049,"caption":"Untitled, 15.5 x 28 x 140 cm, object\/installation, 2012","alt":"Untitled, 15.5 x 28 x 140 cm, object\/installation, 2012"},{"id":1050,"caption":"Untitled, 85 x 105 x 150cm, object\/installation, 2011","alt":"Untitled, 85 x 105 x 150cm, object\/installation, 2011"},{"id":1051,"caption":"Untitled, 69 x 73.5 cm, object\/installation, 2012","alt":"Untitled, 69 x 73.5 cm, object\/installation, 2012"},{"id":1052,"caption":"Untitled, 25 x 49 x 220 cm, object\/installation, 2012","alt":"Untitled, 25 x 49 x 220 cm, object\/installation, 2012"}],"installation":[{"id":1047,"caption":"Hong Sun Hoan, Installation view, 2012","alt":"Hong Sun Hoan, Installation view, 2012"}],"extra":[],"participants":[{"id":48,"name_ko":"","name_en":""}]},"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-248","gs_exhibition","type-gs_exhibition","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/galleryshilla.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/gs_exhibition\/248","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/galleryshilla.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/gs_exhibition"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/galleryshilla.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/gs_exhibition"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"https:\/\/galleryshilla.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/gs_exhibition\/248\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":3763,"href":"https:\/\/galleryshilla.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/gs_exhibition\/248\/revisions\/3763"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/galleryshilla.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=248"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
