This exhibition focuses on painting, including canvas work and paperwork. About 20 paintings and paper works (Korean paperwork) showing new attempts, including large canvas work based on the gold ground tempera technique, will be introduced. On the continuum of the artist's 40-year-old works, he presents works that reveal materials with unique properties such as gold and platinum on linen and Korean paper. These works come to us with a more restrained response to the perfection of the screen and the delicate power of expression. As an exhibition where you can get a glimpse of the infinite possibilities of Koo Ja Hyun's two-dimensional paintings, it is a good opportunity to get a glimpse of the challenges and attitudes the artist has pursued so far. \r\n\r\nKoo Ja-Hyun (b.1955) was born in Daegu, graduated from Hongik University, and majored in painting and printmaking at Osaka University and Kyoto Seika University. He received his master's degree from the Graduate School of Sangyo University in Kyushu. After returning to Korea in the late 1980s after studying abroad in Japan, he is actively engaged in printmaking and painting work. He won the grand prize at the 2002 Space International Print Biennale, the 1998 Sapporo International Contemporary Print Biennale Sponsor Award, and Frechen (West Germany International Print Biennale). He has won over 20 awards and participated in over 30 solo exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions at home and abroad.","source":"","date_label":"","external_url":"","publication_date":"","isbn":"","price":"","dimensions":"","weight":"","pages":"","credit":"","authors":"","description":"","kind":"","contact_html":"","portrait":0,"hero":1667,"biography_pdf":0,"press_pdf":0,"document_pdf":0,"cover":0,"artist_id":0,"inquiry":false,"works":[{"id":1678,"caption":"UNTITLED, 227.3x182.1cm, LINEN, GOLD LEAF, GLUE ON CANVAS, 2019","alt":"UNTITLED, 227.3x182.1cm, LINEN, GOLD LEAF, GLUE ON CANVAS, 2019"},{"id":1679,"caption":"UNTITLED, 90.9x72.7cm, PIGMENT, GOLD LEAF ON CANVAS, 2020","alt":"UNTITLED, 90.9x72.7cm, PIGMENT, GOLD LEAF ON CANVAS, 2020"},{"id":1680,"caption":"UNTITNED, 415x298mm, HANJI(MULBERRY PAPER), GOLD LEAF, 2020","alt":"UNTITNED, 415x298mm, HANJI(MULBERRY PAPER), GOLD LEAF, 2020"}],"installation":[{"id":1668,"caption":"Installation View, Gallery Shilla, Daegu","alt":"Installation View, Gallery Shilla, Daegu"},{"id":1669,"caption":"Installation View, Gallery Shilla, Daegu","alt":"Installation View, Gallery Shilla, Daegu"},{"id":1670,"caption":"Installation View, Gallery Shilla, Daegu","alt":"Installation View, Gallery Shilla, Daegu"},{"id":1671,"caption":"Installation View, Gallery Shilla, Daegu","alt":"Installation View, Gallery Shilla, Daegu"},{"id":1672,"caption":"Installation View, Gallery Shilla, Daegu","alt":"Installation View, Gallery Shilla, Daegu"},{"id":1673,"caption":"","alt":""},{"id":1674,"caption":"","alt":""},{"id":1675,"caption":"","alt":""},{"id":1676,"caption":"","alt":""},{"id":1677,"caption":"","alt":""}],"extra":[],"participants":[{"id":19,"name_ko":"","name_en":""}]},"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-145","gs_exhibition","type-gs_exhibition","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/galleryshilla.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/gs_exhibition\/145","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/galleryshilla.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/gs_exhibition"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/galleryshilla.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/gs_exhibition"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"https:\/\/galleryshilla.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/gs_exhibition\/145\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":3677,"href":"https:\/\/galleryshilla.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/gs_exhibition\/145\/revisions\/3677"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/galleryshilla.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=145"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
