Nicolas Chardon은 1974년 프랑스 클라마흐에서 태어난 화가이자 시각 예술가이다. 

그는 1997년 파리 고등미술학교(ENSBA Paris)를 졸업한 후, 2008년부터 1년 동안 로마 아카데미 드 프랑스 – 메디치 빌라에서 입주 작가로 활동했으며,

이후 리옹 고등미술학교(ENSBA Lyon)에서 교수로 재직후 현재는 제네바 예술대학교(HEAD Genève)에서 아트 비주얼 전공 교수로 활동 중이다.

Chardon은 90년대 후반부터 국내외에서 개인전과 단체전을 활발히 열었으며, 그의 작품은 파리 퐁피두 센터, 룩셈부르크 현대 미술관, 스트라스부르 미술관 등 주요 미술관에 소장되어 있다.

더불어, 그는 파리 그랑 팔레, 독일 베를린 마르틴 그로피우스, 아헨 루트비히 포럼 등에서 전시를 진행했다.

2018년, 독일 브레머하펜 미술관에서 첫 개인전을 개최했으며, 2020년에는 'Cercle des Amis de l'Espace de l'Art Concret Prize'를 수상했다.

2022년에는 배우자이자 화가인 카리나 비쉬와 함께 MAC VAL에서 듀엣 전시를 진행했다.

Nicolas Chardon is a painter and visual artist born in 1974 in Clamart, France.

He graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris (ENSBA Paris) in 1997 and was an artist-in-residence at the Académie de France in Rome – Villa Medici for one year starting in 2008.

Afterward, he taught at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Lyon and is currently a professor of Art Visuals at the Haute école d'art et de design (HEAD Genève) in Geneva.

Since the late 1990s, Chardon has actively held solo and group exhibitions both in France and internationally.

His works are held in major collections, including the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Musée d'Art Moderne du Luxembourg, and the Musée d'Art Moderne et Contemporain in Strasbourg. Additionally, he has exhibited at the Grand Palais in Paris, the Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin, and the Ludwig Forum in Aachen.

In 2018, he had his first solo exhibition at the Bremerhaven Art Museum in Germany, and in 2020, he won the "Cercle des Amis de l'Espace de l'Art Concret Prize."

In 2022, he held a duet exhibition at MAC VAL with his wife and fellow artist, Karina Bisch.
